Santosh Lad Invites Global Investors to Karnataka at House of Lords Summit

London, UK: Karnataka’s Labour Minister and Dharwad District In-Charge Minister, Santosh Lad, addressed the Indo-European Investment Meet at the House of Lords in the UK. In his speech, he emphasized Karnataka’s leadership in multiple sectors, including IT, renewable energy, biotechnology, and steel production, positioning it as a prime destination for global investors.

Minister Lad highlighted that Karnataka contributes 50% of India’s $170 billion IT exports and hosts over 750 multinational IT companies, supported by a robust skill ecosystem with 57 medical colleges and 257 engineering institutions. The state also leads in GDP contribution and is a significant player in silk, milk, and solar energy production, hosting Asia’s largest solar power plant.

He underscored the state government’s commitment to social security through five flagship programs benefitting 40 million families annually, which has bolstered Karnataka’s economic performance. Minister Lad invited international entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in Karnataka, aligning with India’s vision of becoming a $30 trillion economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The minister also advocated for collaborations in AI and encouraged bilateral partnerships to foster innovation and growth.
